Product functions

The following figure illustrates the two basic functions of R+/CHANGE ACCUM:

  • Creating change accumulation groups
  • Generating change accumulation files

You create change accumulation groups through the online interface. Change accumulation files are generated through batch processing.

When you define a change accumulation group, you specify a set of target objects. A target object is a table space, partition, or Db2 data set. A change accumulation group can include certain combinations of table spaces, partitions, and data sets.

When you run an R+/CHANGE ACCUM job, data from the log records for the target objects and, optionally, their indexes are extracted and stored in a change accumulation file.

Change accumulation group definitions and data about change accumulation files are stored in the R+/CHANGE ACCUM repository.
