READTAPE—Archive log tape units


Use the Modify Archive Log Tape Units panel or the READTAPE command to specify the maximum number of dedicated tape units that can be allocated by Db2 to read archived log data concurrently and the length of time an allocated tape unit can remain unused before it is deallocated.

Type the new archive log read tape unit values that you wish to change to. Then press Enter. Note: If DEFAULT is indicated as the parameter source, both tape count and deallocation time will be set from the DSNZPARM values. If NOLIMIT is specified as the deallocation time, tape drives will not be deallocated.

Value

Description

DB2ssid

Db2 subsystem ID or the name of the Db2 data sharing group to which the command applies.

opertuneID

OPERTUNE system profile name (if OPERTUNE is running as a started task) or the batch job name (if OPERTUNE is running as a batch job).

DEFAULT

All READTAPE values are set from the original ZPARM values.

count

Number of tape units. Specify one of the following values:

  • A numerical value in the range 1-99
  • A delta value
    Delta values are expressed numerically (+nn or -nn) or as a percentage (+nn% or -nn%). The resulting value must fall in the range 1–99.

minutes*

Deallocation time (length of time (in minutes) an allocated tape unit can remain unused before it is deallocated). Specify one of the following values:

  • A numerical value in the range 0–59
  • A delta value
    Delta values are expressed numerically (+nn or -nn) or as a percentage (+nn% or -nn%). The resulting value must fall in the range 0–59.

NOLIMIT

Tape units can remain unallocated indefinitely. If you specify NOLIMIT, you cannot specify minutes or seconds.

NORESET

The changes you request remain in effect until the Db2 subsystem is cycled.

* You can specify minutes or seconds or a combination of both. If you specify 1440 for minutes, you cannot specify seconds.
