MainView for DB2 - Data Collector


The MainView for DB2 - Data Collector provides the following features:

  • Online reports
  • Optimized thread history data collection provides:
    • Thread history drill down or thread query access to long term thread data
    • Package level reports
    • Support of batch reporting
  • The Data Collector shared Explain function provides:
    • Hyperlink and menu access from MainView for DB2 views
    • Expanded SQL analysis
  • System level event traces of key performance IFCIDs
  • An alternative to writing DB2 records to SMF
  • Additional batch reporting features
  • Access to the MainView for DB2 - Data Collector Menu options

Several of these MainView for DB2 - Data Collector features require active traces in the Data Collector. Some IFCIDs are started automatically in the default set (but can be disabled), while others are optional and must be added for automatic startup. For more information, see Customizing-after-installation.
