Additional date time and timestamp fields considerations

The following information applies to the date, time, and timestamp fields:

  • A date, time, or time stamp EXTERNAL field consists of a valid date, time, or time stamp EBCDIC string as defined by Db2 SQL. LOADPLUS allows only trailing blanks.
  • For the date, time, and time stamp fields, LOADPLUS loads the current date, time, or time stamp when the input data equates to spaces or zeros. However, for an EXTERNAL date, time, and timestamp fields, if the column has a default value of null, LOADPLUS loads nulls when the input data equates to spaces or zeros.

The following information applies to field specifications for the date, time, and timestamp fields:

  • If you do not include any field specifications for a load job, LOADPLUS expects date, time, and time stamp data in an external format.
  • If you include a field specification for a date, time, or timestamp field, but do not specify the data type, LOADPLUS expects the data in external format.
  • If you include a field specification for a date, time, or timestamp field, but do not specify a data format, LOADPLUS expects the data in internal format.

Considerations for BUSINESS_TIME INCLUSIVE/INCLUSIVE

(BMC.DB2.SPE2310)

LOADPLUS honors BUSINESS_TIME INCLUSIVE/INCLUSIVE.

LOADPLUS and BMC AMI Load and process BUSINESS_TIME WITHOUT OVERLAPS (both INCLUSIVE/INCLUSIVE and INCLUSIVE/EXCLUSIVE) differently. LOADPLUS continues to process as IBM LOAD, loading the first row and discarding subsequent duplicate rows for temporal overlaps. BMC AMI Load continues to discard all duplicate rows when a temporal overlap occurs.
