When to use CHECK PLUS

Db2 system administrators and database administrators perform checks as follows:

  • When Db2 reports problems on table spaces and indexes
  • To validate indexes after table space recovery
  • For periodic integrity checking of critical production data
  • To validate referential constraints after a recovery, load, or reorganization purge
  • To validate column data (through table check constraints or the VERIFY option) after a recovery or load

CHECK PLUS can perform all necessary integrity checks and offers functionality and performance that is not available with any other checking method.
