+SVRDISK

The +SVRDISK parameter specifies the maximum number of disk (or DASD) servers to start for server processing.

+SVRDISK is set by the configuration job, usually UBMCCNTL(NGT$GLBL). You can override this parameter in individual utility jobs with the UTLPARMS DD. You can specify the value of this parameter dynamically at runtime using the XSUTGLOB-global-variable-definition-automation-control-point.

Important

If you use +SVRMODE(MIXED), the internal server does count as one of the disk servers.

The values are defined as follows:

1

Signifies that 1 disk server should be started .

maxDisks

A number from 1 to 32 indicating the maximum number of disk servers to be started.

-1

Signifies that a disk server should not be started.

Important

-1 is only valid when running COPY under PGM=NGTUTIL. You should use +SVRMODE(INTERNAL) to prevent the use of servers. COPY should be run under PGM=ACPMAIN.

Example
+SVRDISK(2)

BMC AMI Utilities use a maximum of two disk servers for server processing. Both the internal and external servers count toward this maximum.

Important

For the rules that apply to parameter syntax, see Parameter syntax rules.
