The DELETEFILES option tells BMC AMI Unload whether to delete the SYSREC files when an unload is unsuccessful.

YES

BMC AMI Unload deletes the SYSREC files when a job run natively or under CHANGE MANAGER for Db2 fails.

ON FAILURE TERMINATE UTILITY syntax in CHANGE MANAGER drives cleanup processing for BMC AMI Utilities jobs.

NO

DELETEFILES NO tells BMC AMI Unload not to delete any data sets after an unload fails.

Restrictions

BMC AMI Utilities do not delete files that are:

  • Defined with an abnormal allocation disposition other than DELETE
  • Defined with an expiration date or retention period that prevents the delete from being honored
  • Created for tape processing
  • Not created using dynamic allocation

BMC AMI Utilities do not delete files when the job terminates with an x22 abend.

Important

The DELETEFILES parameter setting in the SYSIN statement of a BMC AMI Unload job overrides the +DELETEOUTPUT UTLPARMS parameter specification. If you specify both in the job, the DELETEFILES YES/NO specification used in SYSIN is honored. If you do not specify DELETEFILES YES/NO in the UNLOAD command, the +DELETEOUTPUT parameter specified in UTLPARMS is honored.
