+NUMCOLS

The +NUMCOLS parameter specifies the number of concatenated index columns for which you want to collect frequency statistics. This parameter is only used for BMC AMI Stats.

You can set +NUMCOLS in the BMC AMI Utilities configuration to specify the default value for your installation. The BMC configured default value is 1. You can override +NUMCOLS by specifying NUMCOLS in the SYSIN DD statement.

numberIndexColumns

Specifies the number of concatenated index columns for which you want to collect statistics. Valid values are 1 through 16.

Example

+NUMCOLS(10) collects frequency values for up to 10 concatenated columns. If a table has only three columns, BMC AMI Stats will collect frequency statistics for those three columns.

Tip

You can use FREQVAL in the syntax to override a +NUMCOLS value specified in the BMC AMI Utilities configuration or in the STTPARMS DD:

KEYCARD FREQVAL NUMCOLS 10 COUNT numberValues MOST
