+OUTPUTAGE

The +OUTPUTAGE parameter specifies how long to retain a VSAM output file. This value cannot exceed the value of AGELIMIT.

*numberDays*	An integer from 1 to 365, representing the number of days that VSAM output is retained Shipped default: 5 Code default: 7 Important In the parameter descriptions: Shipped default is the default value if you execute the configuration jobs ($729DOP1 and $730DOP2) sent with the installation. Code default is the default value if you do not include the parameter in your configuration jobs or in the executed utility job.

numberDays

An integer from 1 to 365, representing the number of days that VSAM output is retained

Important

In the parameter descriptions:

Shipped default is the default value if you execute the configuration jobs ($729DOP1 and $730DOP2) sent with the installation.
Code default is the default value if you do not include the parameter in your configuration jobs or in the executed utility job.

Example

+OUTPUTAGE(7) - set in current job
+AGELIMIT(30) - set at installation time

VSAM output is retained for a week. The output age is within the 30-day limit specified at installation time.

Example

+OUTPUTAGE(20) - set in current job
+AGELIMIT(14) - set at installation time

The output retention period of 20 days exceeds the 14-day limit specified at installation time. This job would result in an error condition.
