Creating a project


Use the following procedure to create a new freestyle project, copy an existing project, or create a project inside a folder in Jenkins.

  1. From the Dashboard in the Jenkins web user interface, click New Item.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To create a new project:
      1. Enter a name for the project.
      2. Select Freestyle project.
    • To copy an existing project:
      • Enter a name for the project.
      • In the Copy from field, enter the name of the existing project.
    • To create a folder or folder structure and create the project inside a folder:
      1. Enter a name for the folder.
      2. Select Folder.
      3. Click OK.
      4. Navigate into the folder and click New Item.
      5. Repeat step 2 as required.
  3. Click OK.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
