+INITWINDOW

Important

(BMC.DB2.SPE2204)With PTF BQU3820, this parameter is deprecated.

The +INITWINDOW parameter specifies the maximum amount of memory that each server task can use. This allows BMC AMI Reorg to limit memory usage.

INITWINDOW.png

BMC AMI Reorg issues a message if the object being reorganized is too big to run.

The value specified must be between 64 and 4000.

All values are expressed in megabytes.

512

(SPE2010) (Default) Signifies that each server task is allowed to use 512 MB of memory

integer

Specifies the size of the data space in megabytes. The value specified must be between 64 and 4000.

4000

Specifies that if 4000 is used, 4G is used for the task. Also, 4000 allows multiple dataspaces for internal reorg processing. Any value under 4000 restricts the internal processing to a single dataspace. The value of 4000 is recommended for when a single table space data set is approximately 500 million rows.

Important

For the rules that apply to parameter syntax, see Parameter syntax rules.

Example
+INITWINDOW(2000)

Each server task is allowed to use 2G of memory.
