Displaying, updating, and deleting recovery options

You can browse, update, or delete the recovery options for the current object set by selecting the Object Set edit option in the Object List panel for that object set.

Tip

We recommend that you establish recovery option values for the subsystem before you specify recovery option values for an object set.

Before you begin

To perform this procedure, you need the following authorizations (if you are not the creator of the object set):

  • EXECUTE authority for the BMC AMI Recovery Manager DB2 plan
  • TYPE A authority if you intend to save the object set
  • TYPE O authority if you do not intend to save the object set

To browse or update object set recovery options

Start this procedure at the Object List panel, which is displayed after you have created or retrieved an object set.

  1. In the Object List panel, select 2. Object Set Edit, and then press Enter.
  2. Select 1. Utility options and then press Enter.
  3. In the Utility Options Specification panel, select 1. Browse or 2. Update and 1. Recovery, and then press Enter.

  4. In the Recover Options Specification panel, select one of the following choices and press Enter to display those options:

    Important

    The options that are displayed reflect the options in effect for the object set, including options set at the object set level, as well as options that defaulted from the system or BMC AMI Recovery Manager default levels. To update an entry, type over the existing field.

  5. Make changes as needed, then perform one of the following tasks:
    • To cancel your changes and return to the Recover Options Specification panel, press F3.
    • To accept your changes and return to the Recover Options Specification panel, press Enter.

To delete object set recovery options

  1. In the Object List panel, select 2. Object Set Edit, and then press Enter.
  2. Select 1. Utility options and then press Enter.
  3. In the Utility Options Specification panel, select 3. Delete and then 1. Recovery, and then press Enter.

  4. To delete all options set at the object set level, select 3. Delete. To exit without deleting options, select Cancel delete.

    Important

    After deletion, the appropriate recovery option values from other levels will be in effect for this object set. For more information, see BMC-AMI-Recovery-Manager-backup-and-recovery-options.

  5. To return to the Object Set Edit panel, press F3.
