Physical data set attributes
non-system data sets
Supply the VCAT name, the database name, and the space name.
To generate JCL for additional non-system data sets, you must repeat the procedure for each data set. Use the procedure Generating an IDCAMS LISTCAT job to view physical attributes for the data set.
Generating an IDCAMS LISTCAT job
This procedure shows you how to generate IDCAMS LISTCAT JCL to view physical data set attributes.
Before you begin
To perform this procedure, you need these authorizations:
- EXECUTE authority for BMC AMI Recovery Manager
- Authority to use the Print Log Map utility
Start this procedure at the BMC AMI Recovery for Db2 Main Menu.
To generate an IDCAMS LISTCAT job
- In the BMC AMI Recovery for Db2 Main Menu, select 3. DB2 Subsystem Toolbox.
- In the Db2 Subsystem Toolbox panel, select 6. IDCAMS LISTCAT, enter information as required, and then press Enter.
- When the JCL Specification panel appears, enter a fully qualified output data set name. Be aware of the following information:
- The output data set is used for saving the JCL and must be cataloged. If not enclosed in quotes, the output data set will be prefixed by your TSO prefix.
- The job statement must contain a symbolic variable (&#) for the job number. For more information, see Output-data-sets-job-cards-and-symbolic-variables.
- Submit the JCL to obtain the target data set attributes.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
