Using the repository

BMC AMI Recovery Manager uses tables in the following repositories:

  • The BMC Common Db2 repository

BMC AMI Recovery Manager stores object set information in this repository, so it is the primary repository for dynamic object sets. For more information about these tables, see BMC-common-Db2-Repository-tables.

  • The BMC AMI Recovery Manager repository

BMC AMI Recovery Manager does not store object set information in this repository, so it has no role in dynamic object sets but is needed for other BMC AMI Recovery Manager functions. For more information about these tables, see BMC-AMI-Recovery-Manager-repository.

Warning

Important

Throughout this space, the term 'the repository' is used to refer to both of these repositories, the BMC Common Db2 repository and the BMC AMI Recovery Manager repository, because they are both used concurrently by BMC AMI Recovery Manager.

Also, the term 'object set' can be used interchangeably with the term 'group.' (The BMC DASD MANAGER PLUS product uses the object set nomenclature in their documentation.)
