Setting backup options for cabinet copies

The cabinet copy feature of the Recovery Management for Db2 solution enables you to copy all the spaces in an object set into a single data set called a cabinet file.

The cabinet file is allocated and deallocated only once, regardless of the number of objects that are copied to or recovered from the cabinet file, which can greatly improve performance. Cabinet copies require the Recovery Management for Db2 solution and you must be running BMC AMI Recovery Manager with the solution password. For more information about cabinet copies, see the BMC AMI Recovery Manager for Db2 documentation

To make cabinet copies

  1. Display an object set (see Retrieving-saved-object-sets).
  2. In the Object List panel, select 2. Object Set Edit.
    1. Select 1. Utility options.
  3. In the Utility Options Specification panel, select 2. Update and 2. Backup.
  4. Select 5. Output data set options.
  5. On the Output data set options panel, for the Stack field, select 3. Cabinet. You can also set this option for BIGDDN and FULLDDN output copies.

    Important

Cabinet copies are incompatible with compressed indexes.
