Using copies and logs for index recovery
BMC AMI Recover supports index recovery from full image copies, incremental image copies of indexes made by BMC AMI Copy, logs, and change accumulation files. For traditional forward recoveries, you can make the required full image copies with BMC AMI Copy or the IBM COPY utility. You can make incremental image copies of indexes with BMC AMI Copy. BMC AMI Recover can also use a copy that is produced with DSN1COPY when you specify the INCOPY...LOGPOINT keywords.
Point-in-time index recovery that uses logs as described above is also supported, allowing applications to be reset to a prior point in time without sorts of index keys. To use this feature, you must use the INDEXLOG YES or INDEXLOG AUTO option (as an installation option or OPTIONS command option) or the RECOVER INDEXSPACE command.
