Using multitasking index key sorts and index rebuilds

BMC AMI Recover

allows multiple key sorts and multiple index rebuilds to run concurrently in subtasks, which can provide a significant recovery performance improvement.

For each table space, index keys for all indexes being rebuilt are distributed over the number of sorts specified by the MAXKSORT option (MAXKSORT-integer and MAXKSORT). When all keys are input to the sort for a group of indexes, the build for each index is performed in a subtask. One subtask is used for each group of indexes that were previously sorted. The KSORTSHARE option, mentioned in Using-parallel-MERGE-phases-and-log-sorts can also improve your index recovery.

For more information, see MAXKSORT option.
