Using advisors


Advisors are at the center of 

BMC AMI Pool Advisor for Db2

. In the background, they constantly monitor your system resources, calculating the optimum configuration for each resource, and recommending changes when necessary to ensure the best possible performance of your applications.

In the foreground, advisors are never more than a click or a keystroke away. From any Pool Advisor report, you can display an explanation of the current statistics on the report—an explanation that is tailored to real time conditions. If a problem exists on any Db2 subsystem being monitored, the product notifes you instantly. With a few keystrokes, you can see the action that is recommended to correct the problem.

Only the common System Performance and Pool Advisor reports use advisor technology. The information in this section does not apply to BMC AMI Ops Monitor for Db2 views.
