+DELETEOUTPUT

The +DELETEOUTPUT parameter value is checked when a job completes and is marked as COMPLETE.

If you have specified the YES value:

  • All server files (WK, INFO, OUT, and RGTS), the Status IDB, and the Utility Entry are deleted.
  • Message NGTB268 is written to CDBPRINT indicating these deletions.

If you encounter problems with a job after setting this parameter to YES, try to run job again because the Journal output will have been purged.

Important

The BMC AMI Load option DELETEFILES (Load) overrides this parameter.

The values are defined as follows:

NO

(default) Even after successful completion, the INFO and OUT data sets are retained for age processing. For more information, see Automatic-aging-of-VSAM-work-data-sets.

YES

The INFO and OUT data sets are deleted at successful completion. When a failed UID is rerun with the NORESTART parm, +DELETEOUTPUT(NO) is used.

Example
+DELETEOUTPUT(YES)

Output files are deleted at the completion of a job.

Important

If you are working with BMC Support because you have performance concerns and you have specified +DELETEOUTPUT(YES), support might ask you to re-run the job to capture the journal information.

Important

For the rules that apply to parameter syntax, see Parameter syntax rules.
