Important We are integrating BMC AMI LOBMaster technology into the BMC AMI Reorg product and discontinuing BMC AMI LOBMaster as a separate product. For the latest integrated documentation, see BMC AMI Reorg for Db2 13.1.

+SVRTAPE

The +SVRTAPE parameter specifies the number of tape servers to start for server processing.

+SVRTAPE is set by the configuration job, usually UBMCCNTL(NGT$GLBL). You can override this parameter in individual utility jobs with the UTLPARMS DD. You can specify this parameter value dynamically at utility runtime using the XSUTGLOB-global-variable-definition-automation-control-point

Important

You must start at least one tape server for tape jobs. If you specify +SVRTAPE(0), any image copies produced go to disk (DASD).

The value is defined as follows:

0

(Default) No tape servers to be utilized

integer

Specifies the number of tape servers to be utilized

The minimum value is 0. The maximum value is 32.

Example
+SVRTAPE(3)

The product uses three tape servers for processing.

Example
+SVRTAPE(0)

The product does not use any tape servers processing. If +SVRMODE(0) and tape work is specified (specifying MEDIA = 'T' in XCPYMDIA for example), an error occurs because of the conflict.

Important

For the rules that apply to parameter syntax, see Parameter syntax rules.
