Preparing UrbanCode Deploy/HCL Launch artifacts

This topic describes how to create and configure the UrbanCode Deploy/HCL Launch artifacts associated with the component processes provided in the BMC AMI DevOps for Db2 plug-ins:
- To define a resource
- To define an application
- To link a resource to your application
- To configure Environment Properties based on your component
To define a resource
Use the following procedure to define a resource:
- From the UrbanCode Deploy/HCL Launch web console, click Resources tab from the product toolbar.
- Click Create Top-Level Group.
- Enter a name of the resource.
- Click Save.
- Add Group by clicking the three dots menu (***) of your resource. Enter a name for a group and click Save.
- Add Agent by clicking the three dots menu (***) of your group. Select the agent from the list and click Save.
- Add Component by clicking the three dots menu (***) of your agent. Select the component from the list and click Save.
To define an application
Use the following procedure to define an application:
- From the UrbanCode Deploy/HCL Launch web console, click Applications tab from the product toolbar.
- Click Create Application.
- Enter a name for the application.
- Click Save.
- From your application's dashboard, click Components.
- Click Add Component.
- Select a component from the list.
- Click Save.
- From your application's dashboard, click Processes.
- Click Create Process.
- Enter a name for the application process.
- Click Save.
- From the application process editor, click to expand the component process steps drawer.
- Drag and drop the required component process step to the application process to configure with the component process.
- Select the component process and configure.
Click Save.
To link a resource to your application
Use the following procedure to link a resource to your application:
- From your application's dashboard, click Environments.
- Click Create Environment.
- Enter a name for the environment.
- Select an environment color from the list.
- Click Save. The environment name will appear on the screen.
- Click on the created environment name to open the environment resources tab.
- Click Add Base Resource.
- From the list of resources, expand your resource.
- Select the resource group check box that you have created.
- Click Save.
To configure Environment Properties based on your component
Use the following procedure to configure the Environment Properties based on your component:
- From your application's dashboard, click Environments.
- Click Configuration tab.
- Click Environment Properties.
- From the Component Environment Properties list, select your component.
- Update component property values based on your environment.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
- Click Environment Properties.
