To execute a process in UrbanCode Deploy

Use the following procedure to execute a process in UrbanCode Deploy:

You execute a component process via an application process in a specific environment.

  1. On your application's Environments tab, click Process Request https://tse3.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.4dohwUzd_WY8t1uv9xxoWAAAAA&pid=Api&P=0&w=157&h=155for the environment.
    1. Select the Application Process.
    2. If required, select the snapshot or choose the component version.

      Important

      If you created the component by using the BMC component template, provide the input value for application process properties 'ama.job.id'.

    3. Click Submit.

UrbanCode Deploy starts to execute your component process. 

To review the output log for a process request

Use the following procedure to review the output log after executing the process in UrbanCode Deploy:

  1. From the application process request's dashboard, Click log.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Expand the component process steps
      • Click Output Log image2020-12-17_19-44-48.png for each step to view the log.
    • Click Download All Logs
      • Unzip the downloaded zip file and open the log text files (stdOut.txt) for the steps from their respective folders.

To review the JES job log output for a process request

Use the following procedure to review the JES job log output after executing the component process in UrbanCode Deploy:

  1. Open the component process Working Directory in the Agent environment server.

    Important

    • You can use file manager applications, such as puTTY or WinSCP, to view the working directory files in a Linux server via a Windows client.
    • You can use File Explorer in a Windows server.
  2. Select the item corresponding to your output. The name of the item has the following format:

    ucdApplicationName-jobName-jobId

To execute a process in HCL Launch

Use the following procedure to execute a process in HCL Launch:

You execute a component process via an application process in a specific environment.

  1. On the product toolbar in the HCL Launch web console, click the Applications tab.
  2. Select the Application Process.
  3. On your application's Environments tab, click Request Process.
  4. Create the deployment. For more information, see To create a deployment in HCL Launch.
  5. Click Submit Deployment.

HCL Launch starts to execute your component process. 

To create a deployment in HCL Launch

Use the following procedure to create a deployment in HCL Launch:

  1. On your application's Environments dashboard, click Request Process.
  2. On the Request Process tab, verify the following details:
    • Application name
    • Environment name
    • Process name
    • (Optional) Description
  3. Click Next.
  4. On the Choose Component Versions or Snapshot tab, select the snapshot or choose the component version.

    Important

    If you created the component by using the BMC component template, provide the input value for application process properties 'ama.job.id'.

  5. Click Next.
  6. On the Verify Properties tab, verify the environment, resource role, and application process properties.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Schedule Deployment tab, select one of the following options:
    • Run Now
    • Enter Date, Time, and Recurrence Pattern.
  9. Click Next.
  10. On the Review & Submit tab, verify the deployment details and click Submit Deployment.

To review the output log for a request process

Use the following procedure to review the output log after executing the process in HCL Launch:

  1. From the application process request's dashboard, navigate to the Execution log that you want to download.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Expand the component process steps
      1. Click the three dots menu image2021-6-7_13-28-25.png for each step to view the log.
      2. Click View Output Log.
      3. Click Download Log.
    • Click Download All Logs
      • Unzip the downloaded zip file and open the log text files (stdOut.txt) for the steps from their respective folders.

To review the JES job log output for a request process

Use the following procedure to review the JES job log output after executing the component process in HCL Launch:

  1. Open the component process Working Directory in the Agent environment server.

    Important

    • You can use file manager applications, such as puTTY or WinSCP, to view the working directory files in a Linux server via a Windows client.
    • You can use File Explorer in a Windows server.
  2. Select the item corresponding to your output. The name of the item has the following format:

    hclLaunchApplicationName-jobName-jobId
