IBM Db2 support
This version of
supports IBM Db2 Versions 12 and 13.
System requirements
Following are some considerations based on the operating system level:
- You can copy table spaces and index spaces to large format sequential data sets (which can have more than 65,535 tracks) with
by specifying a DATACLAS in the OUTPUT statement that supports large format data sets or by coding DSNTYPE=LARGE in your JCL. You can also use the COPY IMAGECOPY command to copy large format data sets.
supports extended address volumes (EAVs) for VSAM data sets (such as Db2 table spaces, index spaces, active logs, BSDS, and Instant Snapshots).
supports standard image copies in the cylinder-managed portion of EAVs.
zIIP
ascertains if the system has IBM z Integrated Information Processors (zIIPs). If it does,
offloads as much processing as possible to zIIPs.
You can disable the use of zIIPs by specifying OPTIONS ZIIP DISABLED.
MEMLIMIT parameter settings
The following products and components require above-the-bar memory and might abend if sufficient memory is not available:
- ALTER
- BMCSORT
- Change Manager
- CHECK PLUS
- DASD MANAGER PLUS
- High-speed Apply Engine
- LOADPLUS
- BMC AMI Log Master
- REORG PLUS
- UNLOAD PLUS
The default value for the System Management Facility (SMF) MEMLIMIT parameter is 2 GB.
For most jobs, we recommend a value of at least 2 GB for the MEMLIMIT parameter. However, if you are operating on LOB or XML data, we recommend a value of at least 32 GB.
This value is set in member SMFPRMxx in SYS1.PARMLIB. Use any of the following methods if you need to override the default value:
- Specify the MEMLIMIT parameter in the JCL.
- Specify REGION=0M in the JCL.
- Use the SMF IEFUSI exit.
Software requirements
This version of
has the following requirements for more IBM or BMC:
- You must have a minimum of version 13.1.00 of the BMC Db2 Solution Common Code (SCC) installed.
- To use any features that invoke DSNUTILB, you must have the IBM Db2 COPY utility installed.
