You can browse Job Entry Subsystem (JES) jobs that run on the LPAR where the Common Interface Server (CIS) is active to view them. For each job, you can view the associated data sets and page through the contents. The size of the page is determined by the Job Browser text page size option. For more information, see Setting Command Center options.
To view JES jobs, job data sets, and job output
- Open or create a workspace.
In the Job Browser perspective, click Add Filter
.- In the Add Job Filter dialog box, enter a job name.
The application supports the * and % wildcards. - Click OK.
The application searches for jobs that satisfy the filter value. Matching jobs are listed in the results pane. - To view the job data sets, double-click the required job.
The application displays the list of data sets in the Data Sets tab. - To view the contents of a data set, on the Data Sets tab, double-click the required data set.
The application displays the first page of records contained in the data set in the Output tab. The Job Browser text page size parameter in the BMC AMI Command Center option dialog box determines the number of records returned per page. For more information, see Setting Command Center options. - On the Output tab, you can perform the following tasks:
Purpose Action On the current page, find a search string - Click Search
. - Enter the search string in the Search box.
- Click Find Next.
Make a search case-sensitive Select the Match case checkbox. View the first page of rows
Click First <<.
When you use this option, the Pages visited list is reset to empty.
View the previous page of rows Click Previous <. View the next page of rows Click Next >. View the last page of rows
Click Last >>.
When you use this option, the Pages visited list is reset to empty.
Go to a previously viewed page From the Pages visited list, select a page number
The Pages visited list contains pages that you have already viewed only.
- Click Search
- To choose a different data set for the current job, select the Data Sets tab and return to step 6.
- When you are finished, click Back
to return to the job list. - To change the filter, perform the following actions:
- In the Job Filter field, enter a job name.
