Creating a Utility Status view


Use the following procedure to create a new Utility Status view.

  1. Open or create a workspace.
  2. In the DB2 Navigator perspective, click the Add View NW_plus_circle_o.png menu arrow, and then click Add Utility Status View.
  3. In the Add Utility Status View dialog, complete the following fields or accept the displayed default values:

    DB2 Connection

    Use either of the following methods:

    • Type the full or partial name of a Db2 connection to select the first subsystem that matches this value in the list of favorite connections.
    • Use the menu arrow to select from your list of favorite connections.

      Tip

      You can add Db2 connections to your list of favorite connections by clicking NW_plug_connect_square_green.png and specifying which connections to include.

    Utility Type

    (BMC.DB2.SPE2210)

    Select one of the following utility types:

    • BMC Utility Status—Displays a list of BMC PLUS utilities running on a specified Db2 subsystem
    • Db2 Utility Status—Displays a list of IBM Db2 utilities running on a specified Db2 subsystem
    • (BMC.DB2.SPE2404) Db2 Utilities—Displays the contents of the SYSIBM.SYSUTILITIES catalog table, which contains details for utilities in the SYSCOPY catalog table
    • (BMC.DB2.SPE2404) Object Events—Displays the contents of the SYSIBM.SYSOBJEVENTS catalog table, which contains object-level information and details about objects processed by a utility execution

    Filter

    Enter a filter pattern for the Utility ID.

  4. Click OK.The results pane lists the matching utilities and displays the following information for each one:

  5. (Optional) On the BMC Utility Status view, select a utility, and then select Navigate To > BMC Utility Status Details.

    The BMC Utility Status Details view shows the objects that the utility accesses and includes the following information about each object:

    • Fully qualified object name
    • Partition
    • Blocks
    • BMCID
    • DDNAME
    • EXTRABA
    • KIND
    • ORIG_STATUS
    • SHRLEVEL
    • XCOUNT
  6. When finished, save the workspace.
