Creating a template


Use the following procedure to create a template from any workspace. You or your team can make a set of templates for different purposes.

To create a template

New console
  1. In the Workspace Manager, open the workspace that you want to use as a template.
  2. Click Create Template NW_file_template_o_teal.png.
  3. In the Create Template dialog box, enter a template name (up to 50 alphanumeric characters) and optionally a template description.The name is not case sensitive, and it can include spaces, dashes, or underscores. Any leading or trailing spaces will be removed.

    Entering a description can help other users determine whether the template suits their purposes.

  4. Perform one of the following actions to select a folder to contain the template:
    • Click Select folder NW_folder_o.png to choose an existing folder.
    • Click Add new folder NW_folder_plus_circle.png to create a folder as described in Managing-folders.
  5. Click OK.
Classic console
  1. In the Workspace Manager, open the workspace that you want to use as a template.
  2. Click Create Template g_gud_OthersTemplate-24.png.

    In the Create Template dialog box, you can also create new folders and edit your folders. For more information, see Managing-folders.

  4. Either navigate to and select a folder to contain the template, or click Add-16.png and add a new folder as described in Managing-folders.
  5. Click Create Template.

    The new template inherits the layout of the workspace.
