Managing Schema Standards VTI rules

(BMC.DB2.SPE2110)

To add a Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select or add a Schema Standards Violations view.
2. In the Schema Standards Violation Details view, click Manage Violations to Ignore Rules.
   The Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view is displayed.
3. (Optional) To filter the VTI rules displayed, click Add filter.
   For more information, see To filter the Violations to Ignore rules.
4. Click Save Workspace  to save the changes to the workspace.

To add a VTI rule

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select or add a Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.
2. Click Add rule  . 

3. In the Add Violations to Ignore Rule dialog box, complete the following fields: 

   Field	Description
   Rule set	Enter a pattern for the Schema Standards rule set name.
   Rule name	Enter a pattern for the Schema Standards rule name.
   Object type	Select the Db2 object type to which the rule applies. If the rule applies to all object types, select Any type.
   Name part 1	Enter a pattern for the first part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Name part 2	Enter a pattern for the second part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Name part 3	Enter a pattern for the third part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Comment	Enter a comment that describes the rule.

4. Click OK.
    is displayed next to each added rule.
5. Click Save changes   to save all the changes to the Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.

To edit a VTI rule

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select a Schema Standards Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.
2. In the Violations to Ignore Rules grid, select a rule that you want to edit and click Edit rule .
   The Edit Violation to Ignore Rule dialog box is displayed. 
3. In the Edit Violations to Ignore Rule dialog box, edit the values.
4. (Optional) Edit additional Violations to Ignore Rules by using the Previous rule and Next rule arrows to navigate to another rule.
5. When you have completed your edits, click OK. 
    is displayed next to each edited rule.
6. Verify the edited rules. To reset the changes, click Reset rules .
7. Click Save changes   to save all the changes to the Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.

To delete VTI rules

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select a Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.
2. In the Violations to Ignore Rules grid, select one or more rules for deletion.
3. Click Delete rule .
    is displayed next to each rule that you selected to delete.
4. Verify the rules that you selected to delete. To undo the deletions, select one or more rules marked for deletion and click Reset rules  .
5. Click Save changes   to save the changes to the Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.

To copy a VTI rule

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select a Schema Standards Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.
2. In the Violations to Ignore Rules grid, select a rule to copy.
3. Click Copy rule  .

4. In the Copy Violations to Ignore Rule dialog box, edit the contents of the following fields as needed:

   Field	Description
   Rule set	Enter a pattern for the Schema Standards rule set name.
   Rule name	Enter a pattern for the Schema Standards rule name.
   Object type	Select the Db2 object type to which the rule applies. If the rule applies to all object types, select Any type.
   Name part 1	Enter a pattern for the first part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Name part 2	Enter a pattern for the second part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Name part 3	Enter a pattern for the third part of the Db2 object name for which you want to create a rule. You can use the % wildcard. A blank field is interpreted as containing a single % wildcard.
   Comment	Enter a comment that describes the rule.

5. Click OK.
    is displayed next to each added rule.
6. Click Save changes   to save all the changes to the Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view.

To filter the VTI rules

1. In the Manage Violations to Ignore Rules view, click Add filter.
2. (Optional) In View label, enter a comment that describes the filter.
3. Click Insert a row .

4. In the Add Expression dialog box, complete the following fields:

   Field	Action
   Column	Select a column name from the displayed list.
   Operator	Select an operator from the displayed list. Important The LIKE operator accepts only Db2 wildcards (% and _).
   Value	Enter a value. The value is case sensitive and is automatically enclosed in the delimiter that you selected. Important BMC AMI Command Center requires a nonblank value but does not validate this value.
   Logic	Select AND or OR.

5. Click Save.
6. Repeat steps 2 through 4 to continue adding rows until you have built the search clause for the filter.

7. (Optional) To make any changes, edit the search criteria.Use the following buttons to add, edit, remove, or move rows: 

   Button	Description
   	Adds a row to the Search Clause criteria grid In the grid, selecting a row and clicking adds a row above the one that you selected.
   	Lets you edit a row in the Search Clause criteria grid
   	Removes the selected row from the grid
   	Moves the selected row up
   	Moves the selected row down

   You can also edit the search clause directly by typing in the search-clause text area.

   Important

   Changes that you type into the text area are not synchronized with the search criteria in the grid. The grid is disabled.

   You can use the following buttons:

   Button	Description
   Column	Click in the clause and, from the menu, select a column name to add to the search clause.
   Operator	Click and, from the menu, select an operator to add to the search clause.
   	Click to discard any changes that you made in the text area and to re-synchronize the search clause with the search criteria in the grid. (Clicking this button again would restore your unsaved changes and disable the grid.) Important This button is available only after you begin making changes in the text area. Making any change in the search criteria grid disables this button.

8. When you finish building the search clause, click OK.

To show properties for a VTI rule

1. In the Product Tools perspective, select a Schema Standards Manage Violation to Ignore Rules view.
2. In the Violations to Ignore Rules grid, select a rule.
3. Perform one of the following actions:
   • Click Show properties  .
   • Double-click the selected row
   • Right-click the selected row and select Show properties from the context menu.
4. Click Close.
