+OUTPUTAGE


The +OUTPUTAGE parameter specifies how long to retain a VSAM output file. This value cannot exceed the value of AGELIMIT.

An integer from 1 to 365, representing the number of days that VSAM output is retained

Shipped default: 5
Code default: 7

Important

In the parameter descriptions:

  • Shipped default is the default value if you execute the configuration jobs ($729DOP1 and $730DOP2) sent with the installation.
  • Code default is the default value if you do not include the parameter in your configuration jobs or in the executed utility job.
Example
+OUTPUTAGE(7) - set in current job
+AGELIMIT(30) - set at installation time

VSAM output is retained for a week. The output age is within the 30-day limit specified at installation time.

Example
+OUTPUTAGE(20) - set in current job
+AGELIMIT(14) - set at installation time

The output retention period of 20 days exceeds the 14-day limit specified at installation time. This job would result in an error condition.
