Using application groups and profiles
To select an application profile
On the SQL Workload Analysis Menu, select Application profile and press Enter.The Application Profile Selection panel is displayed. This panel lists available application profiles. Only profiles you have created or profiles granted public access appear.

Select Workload analysis and press Enter.When
finishes collecting data, the Group Analysis report is displayed. In this example, SALES, PURCHASING, SHIPPING, MARKETING, AD-HOC, and DEFAULT_GROUP are the application groups contained in the COMPANY application profile. DEFAULT_GROUP is a system-created group containing all of the data that does not match the criteria for any of the defined groups in the profile.
To create an application profile
On the
Main Menu, select Application Profiles and press Enter.The Applications Profiles panel is displayed. Use this panel to create or modify application profiles.

- To create a new application profile, type a new profile name and a short description, and press Enter.
- To modify an existing application profile, type M in the Act field beside the application profile name, and press Enter.
The Define Application Groups panel is displayed. If you are creating a new profile, no application groups appear on the Define Application Groups panel. You can specify on this panel whether other users have access to this profile, and if so, whether they are allowed to modify it.

In the Modified Define Application Groups panel, a new application group called HELP_DESK is added to the application profile called COMPANY. You can define as many objects as you want to the same group name, and you can add as many groups as you want to the profile.
You cannot specify an object in more than one group. However, you can use the * (asterisk) wildcard in your specifications, which might result in an object matching specifications in more than one group. For more information about the wildcard rules and the rules of precedence for this panel, see online Help (press F1 or type HELP ASQEPRG0).
When you define this new application group, HELP_DESK appears among the application groups in the COMPANY application profile (displayed in the following figure).
