APPON

APPON is a Data Collector command that can be issued from the command text area of the Data Collector Command Interface panel (DOMECMDA) or from the system operator console.

You can use APPON to start data collection for Apptune after starting the Data Collector (when Apptune data collection does not start automatically) or after stopping data collection using an APPOFF command.

Note

APPON uses the configuration specified in the DOMPLEX option set. If the APPFILT command is used to change the data collection criteria, a subsequent APPON command will change the configuration back to the specifications in the DOMPLEX option set.

Parameter

Description

DCssid

The subsystem ID of the Data Collector for which data collection is started. Use this parameter only if you are issuing the command from the console. If you are issuing this command from the Command Interface panel, the command automatically applies to the currently selected Data Collector.

DB2ssid

(required) The subsystem ID of the Db2 subsystem for which data collection is started. If you are issuing this command from the Data Collector Command Interface panel, you can specify any active Db2 that Apptune is monitoring within a Data Collector assigned to the current DOMPLEX for this parameter. If you are issuing this command from the console, you must specify a Db2 subsystem monitored by the Data Collector on the current z/OS for this parameter.

MODE

The monitoring mode. If specified, this setting overrides the DOMPLEX option set specification.

You can find information about issuing commands from the Data Collector Command Interface panel in the online Help (type HELP DOMECMDA).
