Creating a new version of an advanced trigger


  1. On the BMC AMI Change Manager for Db2 Main Menu, select WORKID, and press Enter.
  2. On the WORKID Action Menu, type the name of the WORKID or a wildcard pattern to display a list of work IDs. Then select Specify Db2 definitions and press Enter.
  3. On the Object Specification panel, specify the name of an advanced trigger (or use wildcard characters). Then press Enter.
  4. On the Mixed List panel, type L in the Act column adjacent to the advanced trigger (TRA) or the active advanced trigger (TRAA).

    Warning

    Important

    To create a new version of an advanced trigger, you must copy an advanced trigger. The trigger can exist in the Db2 structures or in a change request in a work ID.

  5. Specify the options for the new version of the advanced trigger.

    Warning

    Important

    All versions of an advanced trigger must have the same trigger signature. The trigger signature includes the Trigger Owner, Trigger Schema, and Trigger Name.

    1. In Trigger Version, type a new value for the version. The version must begin with an alphabetic character.
    2. In Add Version, type Y.

      Warning

      Important

      If you type N in Add Version, the product attempts to create a new advanced trigger.

    3. Specify any other options for the trigger.
  6. Specify additional options for the advanced trigger as follows:
    1. Type S to select Trig options.
    2. In Active, type Y or N to indicate whether the version of the trigger is the active version.
    3. Specify any other additional options for the trigger.
    4. Press END.
  7. On the Create Trigger panel, to specify the comment for the advanced trigger, type S to select Comment.
  8. On the Trigger Comment panel, modify the comment, and then press END to return to the Create Trigger panel.
  9. On the Create Trigger panel, to modify the text for the advanced trigger, type S to select Action Text.
  10. Using the ISPF editor, modify the text. If the body exceeds the width of the screen, you can scroll the panel to the right to provide additional text. Then press END to return to the Create Trigger panel.
  11. On the Create Trigger panel, to specify the path for the advanced trigger, type S to select Schema Path.
  12. On the Trigger Schema Path panel, modify the path, and then press END to return to the Create Trigger panel.
  13. If the Activation Event field is UPDATE, type S to select Update Column List.
  14. On the Trigger Column Mixed List, specify the trigger columns.

    Success

    Tip

    Some object names might be too long to be displayed on a panel. To view a long object name, position the cursor on the object name and press ZOOM (F4).

    1. Type C in the Act column adjacent to the table columns column name.
    2. Type A in the Act column adjacent to the trigger.
    3. Press END to return to the Create Trigger panel.
  15. Press END.Now that you have created the new version, you can analyze a work ID and execute a worklist.
