FT579

INVALID SCROLL AMOUNT

Explanation: When viewing MainView for CICS action screens, scrolling may be accomplished by specifying UP or DOWN in the command line. This functions are usually assigned to PF keys. Additionally a number of lines to scroll may be specified. Valid values are M for the maximum amount or a number 1-9999. The default is the current window size. The screen is not scrolled.

User response: Enter a valid scroll value. The PF keys can be viewed or changed by entering the KEYS command.

FT580

ERROR WRITING SMF RECORD. RC=XX

Explanation: The write of a statistics record to the SMF data set failed. RC=xx is the return code in hex. The message appears on the CICS joblog. The system continues to attempt to write the statistics records to SMF at the appropriate intervals. If the problem (such as a full SMF data set) is corrected, the message will no longer appear.

User response: Check the return code against the SMF documentation and take corrective action.

RC=24

The record was not written because the record type specified is not currently being recorded.

RC=28

The record was not written because a buffer shortage caused the data to be lost (this is usually caused by full SMF data sets).

FT578

The record was not written because the record type specified is not currently being recorded.

RC=28

The record was not written because a buffer shortage caused the data to be lost (this is usually caused by full SMF data sets).

FT581

PREVIOUS PARAMETER WAS INVALID.

Explanation: The parameter listed on SYSPRINT above the error message is not a valid parameter for CMRSTATC. The job step is canceled with a return code of 8.

User response: Correct the invalid parameter and resubmit the job.

FT582

SMFIN DD STATEMENT MISSING OR INVALID.

Explanation: The open for the SMF input data set was unsuccessful. This is normally caused by a missing SMFIN DD statement. It can also be caused by incompatible data set attributes. The RECFM of the data set must be VBS. The job step is canceled with a return code of 8.

User response: Insure that the SMFIN DD statement is present in the job stream, and that the data set RECFM is VBS, then resubmit the job.

FT583

CMRSTATS DD STATEMENT MISSING OR INVALID.

Explanation: The open for the statistics output data set was unsuccessful. This normally caused by a missing CMRSTATS DD statement. It can also be caused by incompatible DCB information on the DD statement. The only DCB information needed is the BLKSIZE. The minimum value is 6000, the maximum is 32760. The job step is canceled with a return code of 8.

User response: Insure that the CMRSTATS DD statement is present in the job stream, and that the BLKSIZE is valid, then resubmit the job.

FT584

INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO RUN THE PROGRAM.

Explanation: A getmain for memory above the 16M line failed. The amount of memory necessary depends on the number of different CICS systems being processed and the number of variable data entries. These include number of programs, terminals, transactions, datasets, etc. The job step is canceled with a return code of 8. Data produced to the point of the error will be valid.

User response: Increase the region size above the 16M line, or specify a specific CICS application id in the parameter input, and resubmit the job.

FT585

SYSPRINT DD STATEMENT MISSING OR INVALID.

Explanation: The open for SYSPRINT failed. This is usually caused by a missing SYSPRINT DD statement. The system cancels with a 2048 ABEND.

User response: Insure the SYSPRINT DD statement is present and resubmit the job.

FT586

ERROR IN MEMBER BBIJNT00, SUBSYS=SSA1 USED

Explanation: Activation of the CICS component is in progress. In order to determine the associated BBI-SS, BBIJNT00 or IMFJNT00 is processed, but an error was detected during parsing. Adefault BBI-SS subsystem ID of SSA1 is used. Connection with a BBI-SS using this ID will be attempted.

User response: Correct the error encountered while parsing BBIJNT00 or IMFJNT00. Possible errors include:

  • The member does not have an entry for this CICS region.
  • The TARGET parameter contains a syntax error.

If you are running with BBI26 you should be using BBIJNT00 and not IMFJNT00 which is supported for compatibility.

FT587

IMFPARM DD STATEMENT MISSING, SUBSYS=SSA1 USED

Explanation: Activation of the CICS component is in progress. In order to determine the associated BBI-SS, BBIJNT00 or IMFJNT00 is required, but no IMFPARM DD statement was found in the CICS startup. A default BBI-SS subsystem ID of SSA1 is used. Connection with a BBI-SS using this ID will be attempted.

User response: Add an IMFPARM DD statement to the CICS startup. The data set pointed to by IMFPARM must be the same data set as that pointed to by BBIPARM in the BBI-SS startup.

FT588

CMRSTAT DD STATEMENT MISSING OR INVALID.

Explanation: No TIOT entry was found for CMRSTAT. This is usually caused by a missing CMRSTAT DD statement. The program ends with condition code 12.

User response: Insure the CMRSTAT DD statement is present and resubmit the job.

RESET TABLE xxxxxxxx yyyyyyy response

Explanation: A request was issued to reset one of the MainView for CICS tables, CMRSOPT, CMRSECU or CMRPRBT identified by xxxxxxxx. For table name of CMRSOPT, yyyyyyyy will identify the CICS target for which the the start-up options are being reset. Possible values for response:

  • built ON mm/dd/yy AT hh.mm (CMRSOPT is built from PARMLIB)
  • INVALID SOPT VERSION
  • SOPT NOT FOUND
  • TIMED OUT
  • NOGO - TABLE SIZE INCREASE

No response indicates reset for a table that was assembled using the CMRSECU macro prior to the one made available by PTF BPC2087. NOGO - TABLE SIZE INCREASE means the CMRPRBT has increased in size. The refresh will not be allowed. The BBI-SS PAS must be cycled to refresh the table. Reset the appropriate MV for CICS table parameters.User response: No action is required.
