User abend codes BMCU0000 through BMCU4099

For the BMC system administration family of products for IMS, this topic describes information about user abend codes and subcodes for particular user abend codes.

Number

Description

BMCU0077

MODULES: DLAXSGI0, DLAXALV0, DLAXALT0, DLAXALD0

Explanation: The occurrence of this abend indicates a serious internal error or possibly invalid data in a DELTA IMS log record. The operation is not performed.

User response: Contact BMC Customer Support. You might need to obtain a SYSMDUMP of the TSO address space to submit to BMC for analysis.

BMCU0258

MODULE: VTFXCCBn

Explanation: Abend U0258 occurs for the same reason as IMS U0258. It is a probable SPA data set I/O error or insufficient data set allocation. A return code of 12 indicates that DELTA IMS detected the error with the SPA data set.

User response: Reallocate the SPA data set and restart IMS with FORMAT SP.

BMCU1000

MODULE: DLAXCTL0

Explanation: The VTAM ACB name provided to BMCLINK in the BMCLINK startup JCL was either missing or was greater than the maximum allowed eight characters. BMCLINK terminates abnormally.

User response: This name is provided in the PARM parameter. Correct the name in the BMCLINK startup JCL and resubmit the job.

BMCU1002

MODULES: DLAXCTL0, DLAXVTI0, DLAXBCL0, DLAXBMP0, DLAXVTB0

Explanation: The operator requested a shutdown of BMCLINK with a dump, or a user requested an abend via the batch DELTA List ABEND command. BMCLINK terminates abnormally.

User response: No action is required.

BMCU1003

MODULE: DLAXCMM0

Explanation: The operator replied KILL to the BMCLINK outstanding WTOR. BMCLINK terminates abnormally.

User response: No action is required.

BMCU1004

MODULE: DLAXSLU0

Explanation: A VTAM RPL-based request failed with a return code of 18, indicating an invalid request. The requested function is not executed.

User response: Contact BMC Customer Support. You might need to obtain a SYSMDUMP of the TSO address space to submit to BMC for analysis.

BMCU4060

MODULES REFERENCED IN SUBCODE

Explanation: U4060 is issued as the result of a catastrophic error in the Translate Subsystem which precludes a possible recovery. At the time of the abend, register R15 will contain a subcode further explaining the reason for the failure. IMS terminates abnormally.

User response: See the explanation of the subcodes in the table and take appropriate action.

BMCU4067

MODULES: DLAXCVAn, DLAXCSPn

Explanation: A serious error occurred while DELTA IMS was attempting to reapply changes following an IMS /MODIFY. IMS terminates abnormally.

User response: Check SYSMSG for BMCnnnn-type messages that preceded the abend. Contact BMC Customer Support immediately. You might need to obtain a SYSMDUMP of the IMS control region to submit to BMC for analysis.

BMCU4068

MODULE: VTFXRSOn

Explanation: The maximum number of users that may be /SECURITY allowed has been decreased. In addition, the new maximum amount is insufficient for successful IMS restart. Message BMC6684 precedes this abend and identifies the deficiency. IMS initialization fails.

User response: To force DELTA IMS to accept the new maximum amount, perform an IMS cold start. Otherwise, restore the maximum number specification to the original value or to a value that is higher than the current maximum amount and perform an IMS warm start.

BMCU4069

MODULE: DLAXMVTn

Explanation: An attempt was made to run an expired or unauthorized copy of DELTA IMS. IMS initialization fails.

User response: Contact BMC Customer Support to ensure continuity of DELTA IMS at your site.
