Ordering


To install a product, you must submit an order for it first. To submit your product order, you use the BMC web-based Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) application. This application provides you with the product installation package in the PSI format.

Make sure that you have a valid Support ID and password. 

To submit an order for your product

  1. Click the z/OSMF Installed Products tab, which includes the steps to submit an order for your product:

  2. On the Select products page, perform the following steps to select your product.
    1. In the Product list, select a product by clicking 1743059554881-878.png next to it.
      You can also search your product using the Filter bar. 
      The selected product is added to your order.

      Important

      • You can select your product via multiple filters such as product category, support contract, version, type, and license.
      • You can mark your product as a favorite. To do so, click the star icon next to your product. The favorited products are displayed at the top of the list when you click the Show favorites only icon. This helps you manage your list of products and personalize BMC websites and applications.
      • The licensed products are the products that have been purchased by your company.
      • The trial products are the products for which you can request a trial. After your request for a trial product is approved, you receive an email with a new Support ID and PIN. You must add the new Support ID and PIN to your BMC Support profile to download the requested product. 
    2. You can click Show order to view your order details.

    3. Click Review order. 
  3. On the Review order page, complete the required fields and review your order as follows:
    1. (Required) In the Order name field, specify an order name for your product order. The order name helps you identify your order during PSI deployment. 
      The order name must be 1 to 30 characters in length, which includes alphabetic characters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and special characters (_, @, #, $). Do not add a blank space to your order name. 
    2. (Optional) To send the product order details to any additional email contacts, specify the email address in the Additional Email Address field.
    3. (Optional) To edit the existing product selection, under the Products column, against your product, click Remove from order.
    4. Click Submit order.
      The system starts to process your order at the backend. 
  4. On the end-user license agreement page: 
    1. Complete the fields.
    2. Read all the documents carefully.
    3. Click Accept.
      Confirmation of the order is displayed.
      You receive an order submission email containing your order and product information. A typical product order takes up to 24 hours to process. 
  5. Click Home

To view your order details and download the PSI

After you receive the email stating that your product order is complete, follow these steps:

  1.  Access the Order Dashboard by performing one of the following steps:
  2. In the Processed section, corresponding to your order, click the link in the Current Status column and review the order information. 
  3. If the current status is COMPLETED, perform one of the following steps:
    • (Recommended) Download the PSIs from the download server directly to z/OSMF
      You can download the PSI directly to your z/OSMF system during deployment.
      Click the COMPLETED link, which opens the Order Details window containing the login details. Copy the Server XML and follow the steps listed in Deploying.
    • Download the PSIs to your local workstation:
      1. Click the COMPLETED link, which opens the Order Details window containing the login details to download your PSI, Server XML, and order details.
      2. Log in to the EPD download server with the provided credentials.
        The list of files and folders required for the requested product is displayed.
      3. Select the download folder and click Download.
        The requested service creates a zip folder and initiates the download.

If the order is not completed, the order status is CONTACT SUPPORT. For assistance with your order, create a new support case.
