Using the Installation System to configure RTCS

When you use the Installation System, it creates a default environment on a system in the sysplex for an RTCS Subsystem SYSTEM Registry to be shared. You provide the name of the JCL procedures to start the following:

  • RTCS Initiator started task
  • RTCS Subsystem started task
  • RTCS Generalized Server started task

The Installation System provides the ability to define the RTCS Subsystem SYSTEM Registry, you can specify the different sysplex name and z/OS image name on which you want the environment to be defined. The Online Help explains how to use the Installation System to define multiple instances of an environment.

After you specify the required information, the Installation System:

  • Creates the jobs you need to run to implement the environment
  • Creates one or more checklists for you to follow to complete any manual task that are needed
