Runtime Component System (RTCS)
The
Runtime Component System
(
RTCS
) simplifies BMC mainframe product installation and configuration by storing your product installation and configuration data in repositories. These repositories are hosted by RTCS.
RTCS
provides services and components that products use to perform the following:
- Support additional functions
- Replace or update existing functions
- Extend existing functions
RTCS has no user interface. To control the execution and view the operational status of RTCS, you use the console commands. RTCS is designed for continuous operation and seldom if ever needs to be stopped.
The function modification identifier (FMID) that corresponds to the RTCS is ZOSZxxx , where xxx identifies as the version and release of a component. For example, ZOSZ300 is for version 3.0 of RTCS.
