Accessing the BMC UIM server Commands web page


You perform all UIM server operation tasks from the BMC UIM server Commands web page.

Warning

Note

The UIM server must be started before you can access the Commands page.

Authorization settings

Before accessing the Commands page, you must set the variable ALLOW_NETCMD in the UIM startup member.  (For more information, see Enabling-or-disabling-the-network-browser-command-interface.)

ALLOW_NETCMD setting

Description

NO

Disables the Commands page

YES

Enables the Commands page

AUTH

Requires logging on to the console UIM server Logon web page to verify that you are allowed to access the Commands page

If the logon is successful, you can display the Commands page.

If AUTH is set but you are not authorized to access the Commands page, attempting to access the page generates this message:

403 - Access to URN not allowed

To access the Commands page

From a supported web browser, enter the following URL for the Commands page:

http://uimServerHostName:uimPortNumber/htpcmd.html

The variables in the URL are defined as follows:

  • uimServerHostName is the name of the host computer on which the UIM server is installed.
  • uimPortNumber is the port number that is assigned to the UIM server. The default is 9999.

To access the Commands page using authorization

  1. From a supported web browser, enter the following URL for the console Logon page:http://uimServerHostName:uimPortNumber/UIMLogon

    The variables in the URL are defined as follows:

    • uimServerHostName is the name of the host computer on which the UIM server is installed.
    • uimPortNumber is the port number that is assigned to the UIM server. The default is 9999.

    Informationhttp://syso:9999/UIMLogon

  2. Enter your user ID and password.

  3. (Optional) Enter a group identification and account.

    Note

    You can change the password on the UIM host by entering a new password in the New Password field.

  4. Click OK.The Logon successful message is displayed in your web browser. The authentication for the UIM server is stored in a cookie in your web browser.

  5. Enter the following URL for the Commands page:
    http://uimServerHostName:uimPortNumber/htpcmd.html

  6. To stop access to the Commands page, enter the following URL:
    http://uimServerHostName:uimPortNumber/UIMLogoff
