Using Notification system
As an administrator, you can configure the email notification system for BMC AMI Platform. When the notification settings are configured, the newly created user receives an email containing a one-time password.
Before you begin
To configure email notification
- From the upper tab menu, click the Platform manager tab.
- From the menu in the left pane, select Notification system > Notification configuration.
- In the Notification configuration window, add your details as follows:
Step 1 - In the Channel field, click Continue. The EMAIL option is the default.
Step 2 - In the Enable email configuration, disable email notification if not required by clicking the toggle button. Email configuration is enabled by default.
- In the Retry limit field, enter the number of retry attempts. The maximum value is 5.
- In the Retry interval field, enter the time interval (in minutes) between retriers.
- In the Protocol field, select either SMTP or SMTPS. If you select SMTPS, the Encryption field is disabled.
- In the Host name field, enter the host address (for example, mainhost.example.com).
- In the Port field, enter the port number.
- In the Encryption field, select either None or TLS.
- In the Sender email address field, enter the sender's email address.
- In the Reply-to email address field, enter the reply-to email address.
- In the Enable server authentication field, enable server authentication if required by clicking the toggle button. If this option is enabled, complete the User name and Password fields.
- (Optional) Click Test email configuration.
- Click Save to apply your changes. You can also click Cancel to discard your changes. To remove the configuration, click Delete.
