Monitoring activities
The colored circles on each row indicate how many resources were created successfully. The status of the activity is displayed on the right. The activity status can be higher than the resources status in the event that there were problems in the discovery or the post processing phase.
To view the activity log
Click the three-dot menu and select View Run Log:
The Activity log popup will show. The log is scrollable. Large log files dynamically load as you scroll down.
- To download the complete log file to your workstation, click DOWNLOAD.
You can also download the activity log can also be downloaded from the activity's resources screen. For more information, see To view resources that were created by an activity.
To view resources that were created by an activity
- To view the resources created by a specific activity, click activity time in the STARTED column. The list of resources processed by the activity is displayed, including summary details.
- The summary details include data related to run time, aggregated sizes of the data processed, throughput and performance. Use the tool-tips to display explanation per each.
- The full activity log can be displayed by clicking View Run Log. For more information, see To view the activity log.
- For each resource, click the three-dot menu on the right to view additional information and a list of available actions.
To view policy activities
To view all the activities associated with a policy, click the policy name in the SOURCE column.
The Policy activities page is displayed. You can also reach this page by clicking the policy name in the Policies page.
The page is divided into two sections:
- Policy trends—Graphical statistics
- Policy activities detailed list
Policy trends—graphical statistics
Graph | Description |

Activity duration | Elapsed time of the policy’s activities. |
Resource status breakdown | The gray line represents the z/OS resources that are scanned by the policy. A change in this line might suggest an unusual allocation or deletion of a large number of resources. The line’s values are on the right-hand vertical axis of the graph. The bars represent the number of resources that were created. The color indicates the status of the action. Its values are on the left-hand vertical axis of the graph. A significant change in the height of a bar might suggest unusual activity such as updating a large number of data sets, causing them to be backed up. In the example above, the activities are consistent except for the third activity from the right; In the middle graph it shows a red bar, indicating that an error occurred while processing. This correlates with a shorter run time as shown on the left-side graph, and less storage as shown on the right-side graph. |
Mainframe vs cloud storage size | This graph compares the original mainframe-allocated size of the data sets, volumes, and z/OS UNIX files to their size in the target object storage, indicating the level of efficiency of the compression method used. |
Policy activities detailed list
The activities are displayed in a descending order of running (most recent first). You can use each column for sorting. The sort icon is visible when clicking the column name. Additionally, you can use the Search within results search bar for further filtering.
