Creating a new policy

To create a new policy

  1. Click CREATE POLICY in the Policies window. The CREATE A NEW POLICY page is displayed:

  2. Enter the required input as shown in the example above:

    Name

    A name for the policy

    Description

    (Optional) Description of the policy

    Execution type

    Indicates the z/OS environment on which this policy runs

    Valid options are AGENT or an AGENT GROUP.

    You must pre-define the agent to the management server. Assigning an agent means this policy will be executed on the LPAR in which the agent is active. Agent grouping allows you to span work across several agents. For more information, see  Defining a new agent and Using agent group for sysplex support and load balancing.

    Status

    Status of the policy

    Valid options are:

    • ENABLED—The policy can run automatically or manually.
    • DISABLED—The policy can run manually only.

    Important

    Before deleting a policy, you must set the status to DISABLED.

    Type of policy

  3. Click NEXT to configure the the schedule, options, and filters for the policy. For more information, see General-policy-definitions.
  4. To save the new policy, click Finish

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
