Working with BMC AMI Cloud life cycle

Life cycle management is a batch process that runs on z/OS and removes resources from the object storage.

Delete-expired

Expiration of resources is done in two ways, generation and period. Resources that you have specified as generation-based are deleted by the management server during the finalization stage of the policy. Resources that you have specified as period-based will expire at the end of the retention period and will be deleted by the next life cycle deleted expired run.

Storage optimizer

Storage optimizer is a batch process that runs on z/OS and performs cleanup operations on incomplete resources. The process is designed to optimize the object storage consumption and to protect unwanted data removal.

Expiration-handler

Expiration-handler manages the expiration of SMS-managed deleted data set backup versions, which reduces object storage consumption.
