Preparing to install the BMC AMI Cloud agent


Perform the following tasks before installing the BMC AMI Cloud agent. For the system requirements, see BMC-AMI-Cloud-agent-requirements.

Obtaining the installation files and license key

Important

Skip this step if you have already downloaded the installation files and obtained a license key as explained in Preparing-to-install-the-management-server-on-Linux or Preparing-to-install-the-management-server-on-zCX.

Use the following procedure to obtain the installation files and a license key:

  1. In the search bar, search for either BMC AMI Cloud Data or BMC AMI Cloud Vault. Both product files are composed with the same binaries.
  2. Click on the version you want to download. 
  3. In the Product tab, select the files and click Download.
  4. Select the License Information tab and download the temporary license key.
  5. To obtain a full license key, go toSupport Central and select Case Management

  6. Open a license key request by clicking on Create New Case and filling in the required information. 

    Important

    Supply output of the z/OS command D M=CPU.

Verifying JZOS configuration

The BMC AMI Cloud agent is invoked by using the JZOS Batch Java Launcher module, which is a component of the IBM JVM for z/OS. To verify that the JZOS is correctly configured to run the BMC AMI Cloud agent, verify that the JZOS JVMLDM86 module is located in your LINKLIST or use the STEPLIB DD.
