License usage report details

The license usage report displays information about the licensed features of Infrastructure Management, exact number of licenses used for each Infrastructure Management feature or monitor solution.

From the Operator Console, the report is available from the Options > Administration tab > BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management section.
The report is refreshed once a day.

Enhancements in this version

Note

Infrastructure Management native monitors are not counted. Existing customers can view native monitors by running the old license usage report.

The following table describes the main elements of the report.

Field	Description
Report Date	Displays the date and time stamp of the current report run.
Host	Displays the name of the Infrastructure Management host name
License Categories	Displays all license categories, unit of measurement for each category, number of instances for each category if applicable, and comments for each license category. Click the number of instances link to view the details of the counted instances.
	Server Monitoring and Analytics	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Application, Database and Middleware Monitoring and Analytics	Unit of measurement: Server endpoint Limitations: The host cannot be displayed for solutions with no I2D. 	Group Tree view	Units of measurement: Per instance Counts a single instance of the Infrastructure Management server where the hyperbolic tree is used for group or SLO views.
	Sentry Hardware Monitoring and Analytics	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Sentry Storage Monitoring and Analytics	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Sentry Microsoft Applications Monitoring and Analytics	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Sentry Monitoring Studio	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Synthetic Transaction Monitoring and Analytics	Units of measurement: Per instance (execution server) Counts instances of BMC Transaction Management Application Response Time execution server.
	BMC TrueSight App Visibility Manager	Units of measurement: Server endpoint Counts the number of OS instances that are monitored by an AppSight black box or run an application server that is monitored by an AppSight black box. Limitations: TrueSight App Visibility Manager count can be duplicated when two application servers are deployed on a single host which does not have a host name and each application server is configured to listen on a different IP (assuming the host has more than one IP), then the host is counted twice. If a server is de-provisioned but the AppSight Repository is not updated, the report keeps reporting this server as monitored.

	Third-party and Custom Analytics Add-on	Units of measurement: Server endpoint Counts the number of OS instances monitored by the following adapters: Adapter for Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Adapter for HP OpenView Adapter for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
	Impact Management	Units of measurement: Per instance
	Event Management	Units of measurement: Per instance Counts servers where the host ID is provided in the event. In most cases this does not count any third-party event management servers.
	Simple Network Management Protocol	Units of measurement: Server endpoint
	Unique Servers	Units of measurement: Server endpoint Counts the number of unique OS instances within the following categories: Server monitoring and analytics Application, database and middleware monitoring and analytics Event and impact management Application diagnostics
Export Options		Select an export type for the report: PDF Consolidated License Report - available in CSV and XML format
