Accessing BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit with BMC Helix Single Sign-On


BMC Helix Single Sign-On (BMC Helix SSO) is an authentication system that allows users to access multiple BMC products with a single set of user credentials. With BMC Helix SSO, users present their credentials only once and get automatically authenticated to other BMC applications protected by BMC Helix SSO. During the system activation, the BMC Helix SaaS Operations team configures the single sign-on authentication for your organization in the BMC Helix SSO Admin Console. After that, an administrator of your organization must enable the BMC Helix SSO authentication in BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit. After the BMC Helix SSO authentication is enabled in BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit, use your BMC credentials to log in to the service. 

Important

If your organization doesn't want to use the single sign-on authentication mechanism provided by BMC Helix SSO, you can use local credentials to access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit. 

To log in to BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit with BMC Helix SSO

After your organization's administrator enables the BMC Helix SSO authentication in BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit, you can access the service in one of the following ways:

Access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit via a direct link

To access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit from BMC Helix Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Portal with your BMC credentials.

  2. Click the BMC Helix iPaaS tile.

To access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit via a direct link, follow these steps:

  1. In the address bar of your browser, paste a direct link to BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit. 
  2. Log in to BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit with your BMC credentials. 

BMC Helix SSO login scenarios

BMC Helix SSO supports different login scenarios when the following users access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit with their BMC credentials:

  • Existing users—BMC users that have a user profile in BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit.

    Important

    Before enabling BMC Helix SSO, make sure that the user information is available in the CTM: People form. Otherwise, the user faces issues while logging in to BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit.

    Refer to the following list to ensure a successful authentication for your users:

    • The login ID of a user to access BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit must be the email address provided for that user in the CTM: People form.
    • The first name and last name of the user should be set in the CTM: People form.
    • A user who belongs to more than one organization or a bypass list cannot leverage the single sign-on authentication mechanism.

  • New users—BMC users that don't have a user profile in BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit.

Important

To create a profile for a new user, BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit retrieves user information, such as the user's email address, first name, and last name, from the CTM: People form in Mid Tier. Make sure this information is provided for your users in the CTM: People form. Otherwise, the user needs to create their profile manually.

BMC Helix SSO logout scenarios

BMC Helix SSO supports logout scenarios that are identical for existing and new users. Users can log out either from BMC Helix Portal or directly from BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit. The following image shows how a user session is handled when users log out from the service. The following mechanisms to handle the user session are applicable only if users log in to BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit from BMC Helix Portal.
