18.11 enhancements

Performing Remedy SSO administrative activities by external users

As an external LDAP user, you can now log in to the Remedy SSO Admin Console and perform all Remedy SSO administrative activities. To log in to the Remedy SSO Admin Console, you must first configure the LDAP authentication for external users in Remedy SSO. This ensures the following:

  • Reduce the dependency on internal Remedy SSO administrators to manage administrator accounts for each Remedy SSO deployment.
  • Follow the password policies enforced by LDAP for external administrators.

As an administrator, you can be authenticated using the following authentication types:

User

Authentication Type

Description

Internal

Internal

Use this authentication type for internal administrators. You can define this authentication type only once.

External

LDAP

Use this authentication type for external administrators. You can define this authentication type multiple times for authentication chaining.

For more information about adding external administrators, see Configuring-the-Remedy-SSO-server.

Exporting and importing Remedy SSO configuration by using the Data Transfer tool

In Remedy SSO version 18.08 and earlier, you could export or import the configuration for the tenants from one Remedy SSO server to another by using the Remedy SSO Admin Console. From version 18.11, you can also export or import the configuration by using the the command line interface of the new Data Transfer tool.

By using this tool, you can:

  • Export all configurations.
  • Import either all or segments of configuration.

For more information, see Importing-and-exporting-Remedy-SSO-server-configuration.
