This documentation supports the 22.4 version of BMC Helix Single Sign-On, which is available only to BMC Helix customers (SaaS). To view an earlier version, select the version from the Product version menu.

Preparing for upgrade


Before performing the upgrade of BMC Helix Single Sign-On to the latest version, you must first follow the preparation steps.

Review system requirements to make sure that all required hardware and software are available to upgrade BMC Helix SSO on a target server.

To prepare for the upgrade

  1. Before you upgrade BMC Helix SSO, make sure that you have the required permissions to run the installer, and the required user permissions for the BMC Helix SSO database. For information about required permissions, see Installation-permissions.
  2. From the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site, download the BMC Helix SSO upgrade files, unzip and save them on all the servers where you want to upgrade BMC Helix SSO. For information about how to download the installation files, see Downloading-the-installation-files.
  3. Make a backup copy of the BMC Helix SSO database. At a later time, if you need to roll back the upgrade, you will be able to reapply the old configuration.
  4. If you have applied custom settings in the web.xml located in the

    BMC Helix SSO

     Tomcat>\webapps\rsso\WEB-INF folder on the BMC Helix SSO server, create a backup of these settings.
