Adding the consumer key to access the BMC Helix Single Sign-on server
You need to define a consumer key for BMC Helix Single Sign-On agent to successfully and securely communicate with the BMC Helix SSO server. The SaaS administrator provides the consumer key that can be used for secure communication between the BMC Helix SSO agent and server.
Before you begin
Make sure the BMC Helix SSO administrator has provided the consumer key for your system to access the BMC Helix SSO server configuration.
To add the consumer key details for a BMC Helix SSO agent
To add the consumer key details for a BMC Helix SSO agent:

- Click Environment Variables....
- Under System Variables, click New.
In the Environment Variables dialog, add the following values:
Variable name
Enter RSSO_CONSUMER_API_KEY.
Variable value
Enter the consumer key provided by your Administrator.
- Click OK.
Restart the Tomcat server or redeploy the container to update the BMC Helix SSO agent with the new BMC Helix SSO consumer API key value.
For all communications from the BMC Helix SSO agent, the BMC Helix SSO verifies that the consumer key defined in the system is available in the list of consumer keys defined on the BMC Helix SSO server, and grants access for the agent to fetch the BMC Helix SSO server configuration.
