Checking connection to LDAP Server

You must check whether connection to LDAP server is successful and ensure that there is no blocked port or URL.  To check the connection, we recommend that you use JXplorer. For more information, see JXplorer documentation.

To check for successful connection to LDAP Server

  1. Start JXplorer.
  2. From the File menu, choose Connect.
  3. In the connect dialog ("Open LDAP/DSML Connection"), specify the following - Host, Port, Base DN, Security Level, Security User, and Security Password.
  4.  Click Ok to establish the connection.
If the connection establishes successfully, you should see the Explore tree populated with some nodes that represent entities in your directory.

Note

Even if you see the error, Search partially failed!, the connection is successful. The error is a consequence of the search process of Active Directory.
