Enabling debug logging in BMC Atrium SSO server

In BMC Atrium SSO server, you can enable debug logging using the following steps:

  1. Open BMC Atrium SSO Admin Console.
  2. Click Edit Server Configuration button.
  3. In Server Configuration Editor, select logging level from the drop down list. The following options are available:
    • Off – disables logging
    • Error – writes only errors to the log file
    • Warning – writes warnings and errors to the log file
    • Message – the most verbose logging mode which writes to the log not only warnings and errors but each system message. Please, be careful with this mode because it can consume a lot of your hard disk space.

Note

You can find the log files at the following location: <BMC Atrium SSO installation directory>\tomcat\logs\debug.out

If you need to find a root cause of a particular error which BMC Atrium SSO server showed in the browser, search the log file using the error message.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
