Upgrading


You can upgrade a previous installation of BMC Atrium Single Sign-On by using the installer provided with BMC Atrium Single Sign-On. This procedure for upgrading BMC Atrium Single Sign-On is the same for both Microsoft Windows and UNIX.

To upgrade BMC Atrium Single Sign-On

Note

BMC recommends that you backup BMC Atrium Single Sign-On before proceeding with an upgrade.

  1. On the target computer, start the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On installation utility.
  2. When prompted, choose to upgrade BMC Atrium Single Sign-On and agree to the license agreement.
  3. When the upgrade is complete, review the summary information.
  4. To view the upgrade logs, click View Log.
  5. To close the dialog, click Done.

To configure the BMC Atrium Single Sign-On environment for upgrading BMC Analytics for BSM

If you are upgrading BMC Analytics for BSM, you need to remove the J2EE agent from BMC Atrium Single Sign-On.

  1. Ensure that you stopped and disabled the Tomcat server that you installed during the BMC Analytics for BSM installation.
  2. Launch the BMC Atrium Sign-On server using the URL https://<hostname>:<port>/atriumsso and an account with administrator privileges.
  3. Select the Access Control tab.
  4. In the Realms list, click /(Top Level Realm). The /(Top Level Realm) - Properties page appears.
  5. Select the Agents tab and then the J2EE tab. The list of J2EE agents appears.
  6. Select the J2EE agent for the BMC Analytics for BSM host and click Delete. The J2EE agent is removed from the list.
  7. Proceed with your BMC Analytics for BSM upgrade.
